Paediatric Occupational Therapist – Berkshire

Location: Berkshire Contract: Permanent Hours: Sociable working hours (no weekends or evenings after 6:30 pm)

Our client is seeking a dedicated Paediatric Occupational Therapist to provide specialist OT provision to pupils with autism. This role involves delivering high-quality assessment, intervention, and support within an educational setting, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure pupils achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Practice and Intervention

Maintain responsibility for OT interventions, ensuring high standards of care.

Provide direct therapy to pupils as outlined in their EHCPs.

Deliver small group OT sessions and develop individualized and class-based intervention programs.

Embed OT strategies throughout the school environment.

Collaborate with a wider team of therapists and adhere to professional ethical standards.

Assessment and Equipment

Conduct comprehensive assessments using appropriate tools.

Assess for specialist equipment, make recommendations, and ensure safe setup.

Train parents, carers, and staff in equipment use and monitor safety.

Training and Support

Plan and deliver staff training sessions and parent information sessions.

Support the implementation of OT strategies across the school environment.

Professional Standards

Maintain accurate clinical records, write detailed reports, and contribute to reviews.

Manage workload efficiently and participate in CPD activities.

Stay current with research, guidelines, and legislation relevant to practice.

Multi-Disciplinary Working

Collaborate effectively with education staff, therapists, and other professionals.

Contribute to multi-disciplinary assessments and provide specialist advice.
