Job Title : Accident & Emergency Nurse Banding : Band 5 & Band 6 Location : York Hourly Pay Rate : £17.00 – £32.00 per hour
Pulse Nursing is seeking skilled and experienced Accident & Emergency nurses to join our team at York Teaching Hospital NHS FT.
As an A&E nurse, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional, patient-centred care. PAYE rates are £17.00 per hour for days, £23.00 for nights and Saturdays, and £28.00 for Sundays and bank holidays, or Umbrella rates are £20.00 per hour for days, £26.50 for nights and Saturdays, and £32.00 for Sundays and bank holidays.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care within a busy Accident & Emergency department
Assess, monitor, and manage patients presenting with acute and emergency conditions
Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure timely and safe patient care
Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation
Adhere to NMC guidelines, trust policies, and clinical governance standards
Respond calmly and effectively in high-pressure and emergency situations

Skills & Qualifications
Valid NMC registration
Minimum of 6 months' recent A&E experience within the last 12 months
Ability to provide two professional references covering the previous 3 years
Compliance with framework requirements, including DBS and Occupational Health clearance
Proof of right to work in the UK
Strong clinical knowledge and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care
