Quality Engineer II

Cape Canaveral, FL, USA

At Relativity Space, we’re building rockets to serve today’s needs and tomorrow’s breakthroughs. Our Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting the growing demand for launch capacity. But that’s just the start. Achieving commercial success with Terran R will unlock new opportunities to advance science, exploration, and innovation, pioneering progress that reaches beyond the known.

Joining Relativity means becoming part of something where autonomy, ownership, and impact exist at every level. Here, you're not just executing tasks; you're solving problems that haven’t been solved before, helping develop a rocket, a factory, and a business from the ground up. Whether you’re in propulsion, manufacturing, software, avionics, or a corporate function, you’ll collaborate across teams, shape decisions, and see your work come to life in record time. Relativity is a place where creativity and technical rigor go hand in hand, and your voice will help define the stories we’re writing together. Now is a unique moment in time where it’s early enough to leave your mark on the product, the process, and the culture, but far enough along that Terran R is tangible and picking up momentum. The most meaningful work of your career is waiting. Join us. About the Team:

The Launch team operates at the intersection of every major aspect of Terran R, from stages and payloads to ground systems, launch, landing, and refurbishment. The Cape is where it all comes together—offering unmatched exposure to the full lifecycle of flight hardware and launch operations. This team is responsible for executing first flights, enabling reuse, and scaling toward high-cadence launch operations. The work evolves with every milestone, requiring adaptability, strong collaboration, and a commitment to building and maintaining quality in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

In this role, you will not only support launch execution but also interface closely with test and manufacturing teams, gaining hands-on exposure to hardware and contributing to quality processes that span development, test, and flight.

About the Role:

Provide quality oversight for Test and Launch operations, including in-process build verification, issue ticket management, as-built verification, and non-conformance management

Plan and execute quality activities through work instruction reviews, process development, corrective action plans, and standard rework/repair documentation

Support and contribute to the AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS), partnering with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and improve quality policies and procedures

Collaborate closely with Launch, Test, Manufacturing, and Responsible Engineering teams to ensure alignment on quality and program objectives

Use data and metrics to identify trends, determine root causes, and drive corrective and preventative actions across the product lifecycle

Contribute to process improvement initiatives, with opportunities to help define and scale quality processes in a rapidly evolving launch environment

Support procurement and hardware readiness efforts as needed to ensure successful integration and launch execution

About You:

Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and problem-solving methodologies

Experience working in cross-functional environments and managing competing priorities to meet deadlines

Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels
