Branch Manager who assumes the role of overseeing the operations and administrative matters of the whole branch

About the Job Position: Branch Manager Department: Branch(Shenzhen Branch) Line Reporting: Country MD Matrix Reporting: Country MD Purpose of the position: Provides leadership and guidance to ensure the profit center's profitability and growth in accordance with the group policy. About You Key Tasks: 1. Increase gross profit by actively pursuing new business compatible with the overall scope of the group service lines 2. Ensure the ongoing development and maintenance of main customer relationships 3. Work closely with the operational and sales managers of the responsible entity to ensure the business unit is working at optimum capacity and efficiency 4. Take care of the recruitment, training and development of operational managers, sales and team members 5. Track and provide management wit reporting on key issues 6. Negotiate with suppliers 7. Improve existing processes and implement new ones 8. P&L ownership. Responsible for the financial process for the responsible entity, including submission of the annual budget, historic comparisons, variance reporting (actual vs budget) etc. 9. Effectively monitor costs via systems currently used, and/ or work with appropriate staff to establish new systems of measurement 10. Routinely analyze receivables to ensure they are within acceptable limits Decision Making Authority: 1. Within the defined areas of responsibility 2. In accordance with staff manual book 3. Exception handling ONLY after consulting with line manager Function / Market & Industry Knowledge / Business Acumen / Process working 1. Excellent and thorough knowledge of Forwarding 2. Operational know-how (in local customs rules and regulations) 3. Excellent knowledge and understanding of Customer Service Requirements 1. Comprehensive understanding of HWL systems functionality. 2. Basic geography knowledge Skills & Competencies 1. Self-starter and a team player 2. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills 3. Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, with a keen eye for Details 4. Strong quantitative and analytical thinking skills 5. Strong problem-solving skills 6. Strong focus on human resources management and business development in line with the group policy Educational background / Work experience 1. University degree holder with at least 15 years of experience in logistics and transportation industry, of which 5 years in managerial level 2. Proven sales track record with existing client portfolio Language skills 3. Language skills: Fluent in English and Mandarin. Ability to speak in other language(s) would be an added advantage Computer Literacy 1. Good PC skills and accurate typing 2.
