We are now seeking an&nbsp;Embedded&nbsp;Platform Engineer to help us develop our pioneering portfolio of video devices further. Based at our global headquarters in Oslo, you will join Neat's main R&amp;D hub of over 70 talented engineers and designers.</p><p>We are a dynamic team of creative mavericks specializing in audio, video, machine learning, industrial design, electronics, mechanics, platform development, android app development and web development. For decades, many of us shaped game-changing innovations for some of the world's most recognized video communications brands.</p><p>Placing users at the center of everything we do, Neat brings people the future of video today.</p><p><strong>The opportunity:</strong></p><p>As an Embedded&nbsp;Platform Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining the lower-level software for Neat's innovative devices. Your responsibilities will include:</p><ul> <li>Designing, developing, integrating and optimizing kernel-level components to ensure robust and high-performance operation.</li> <li>Working with the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) to customize and enhance the platform for our unique hardware.</li> <li>Implementing and refining Hardware Abstraction Layers (HALs) to bridge the gap between software and our cutting-edge hardware.</li> <li>Collaborating within a DevOps framework, contributing to continuous integration, delivery, and deployment pipelines.</li> <li>Troubleshooting and debugging complex system-level issues across the entire platform stack.</li> <li>Contributing to the architectural decisions and technical roadmap for Neat's platform evolution.</li> </ul><ul> </ul><p><strong>What could make you a good fit:</strong></p><ul> <li>You possess extensive experience in kernel development, AOSP, or embedded Linux platforms.</li> <li>You have a deep understanding of hardware-software interaction and experience with HALs.</li> <li>You are proficient in C/C++ and have experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).</li> <li>You have a strong grasp of DevOps principles and experience with related tools and practices.</li> <li>You are a proactive problem-solver with excellent debugging and analytical skills.</li> <li>You are a collaborative team player who thrives in an agile development environment.</li> <li>You are passionate about creating high-quality, reliable, and performant software.</li> </ul><p><strong>Why Neat?</strong></p><p>Join a company that is making a real impact in how people connect and collaborate.
