Their team culture is supportive and impact-driven, where each team member plays a visible, valuable role.</p><h3>The Role: Accountant</h3><p>As a qualified Accountant, you'll be the main point of contact for a portfolio of UK clients, preparing and reviewing statutory accounts, tax returns, and VAT/CIS submissions, while providing actionable advice on cash flow and tax planning. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance, spotting opportunities, and driving better business decisions for clients. This is a fully remote position (from South Africa), with regular contact with clients and internal teams in the UK.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Minimum 5 years experience in an accountancy practice or advisory agency</li><li>Prepare and review statutory accounts, CT600 returns, VAT returns, and CIS submissions</li><li>Produce management accounts and forecasts for client reporting</li><li>Liaise directly with HMRC on behalf of clients</li><li>Ensure all filing deadlines are met accurately and on time</li><li>Advise clients on cash flow, profitability, and tax planning</li><li>Review work from junior accountants and bookkeepers</li><li>Support clients with optimising cloud-based accounting platforms (Xero, Dext, Xenon, Syft)</li></ul><h3>About You</h3><ul><li>ACCA qualified (essential)</li><li>5+ years experience in UK-focused accountancy roles</li><li>Deep understanding of UK accounting standards, VAT, CIS, and corporation tax</li><li>Direct experience dealing with HMRC and UK statutory compliance</li><li>Proficient in Xero (certifications advantageous) and ideally QuickBooks</li><li>Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication, neutral English accent required</li><li>Commercially savvy, with a proactive and client-first mindset</li></ul><p>Originally posted on <a href="https://himalayas.app">Himalayas</a></p>
