Senior Profee Coder (Multi-Specialty – Strong Surgical Experience)

<h3>This is a remote position.</h3><p>We are seeking a highly skilled<b>Senior Profee Coder (Multi-Specialty – Strong Surgical Experience)</b>to join our team on a<b>contract-to-permanent basis</b>. This is a<b>remote position</b>, open only to residents of<b>Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, New Mexico, or Georgia</b>.</p><p>In this role, you will focus on high-dollar or specialty accounts, applying expert-level coding knowledge to ensure accurate and compliant coding of inpatient and/or outpatient services. You will collaborate with clinical documentation specialists and other departments to support accurate billing and reduce denials. This position requires a strong understanding of surgical coding and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities:</h3><ul><li>Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and/or CPT codes based on clinical documentation.</li><li>Abstract and validate data in electronic medical record systems.</li><li>Ensure coding accuracy rate of 95% or higher.</li><li>Collaborate with HIM and Clinical Documentation teams to clarify documentation.</li><li>Manage coding queues and resolve accounts on hold.</li><li>Participate in audits and implement solutions to reduce errors.</li><li>Maintain compliance with AHIMA's Standards of Ethical Coding.</li></ul><br><h3>Requirements</h3><h3>Education &amp; Experience:</h3><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent required.</li><li>Completion of an accredited Health Informatics, Health Information Management, or AHIMA-approved Coding Certificate Program preferred.</li><li>2+ years of professional coding experience preferred.</li><li>Strong surgical coding experience across multiple specialties is essential.</li></ul><h3>Certifications:</h3><ul><li>AHIMA or AAPC credentials required.</li></ul><h3>Additional Requirements:</h3><ul><li>Must reside in TX, LA, AR, NM, or GA.</li><li>Ability to work independently in a remote setting.</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>High attention to detail and accuracy.</li></ul><br><h3>Benefits</h3><div>Client offers Full Health Insurance and other benefits.<br></div><p>Originally posted on <a href="https://himalayas.app">Himalayas</a></p>
