This role is ideal for someone with a strong grasp of SEO fundamentals who’s ready to apply them at scale in a fast-growing, purpose-led business.</span></p><p><span>You’ll work closely with the SEO Manager to help ensure </span><a target="_blank" href="http://elder.org"><span>elder.org</span></a><span> is discoverable not just on Google, but across platforms where people increasingly search for information, including AI-powered search experiences like Google AI Overviews, AI Mode and ChatGPT.</span></p><h2><span><strong id="docs-internal-guid-d6fbd928-7fff-0055-1ba2-46d940546eb7">What you’ll be responsible for</strong></span></h2><h3><span><strong id="docs-internal-guid-d6fbd928-7fff-0055-1ba2-46d940546eb7">Core SEO support</strong></span></h3><p><span>You’ll support day-to-day SEO activity, including:</span></p><ul><li><p><span>On-page optimisation (e.g. meta titles and descriptions, heading structures, internal linking, and image optimisation)</span></p></li><li><p><span>Updating and improving existing content to increase visibility, rankings and engagement</span></p></li><li><p><span>Carrying out keyword research for new and existing pages, informed by user intent and search behaviour.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Content production based on gap analysis and new keyword research</span></p></li></ul><h3><span><strong id="docs-internal-guid-d6fbd928-7fff-0055-1ba2-46d940546eb7">Search beyond Google</strong></span></h3><p><span>You’ll help ensure </span><a target="_blank" href="http://elder.org"><span>elder.org</span></a><span> is discoverable wherever people look for answers, including:</span></p><ul><li><p><span>Supporting content optimisation to improve how it is surfaced in modern search experiences (e.g. AI Overviews, AI Mode, large language models)</span></p></li><li><p><span>Learning how emerging discovery platforms impact SEO and applying relevant best practices</span></p></li><li><p><span>Monitoring changes in user behaviour and supporting the identification of new SEO opportunities</span></p></li></ul><h3><span><strong id="docs-internal-guid-d6fbd928-7fff-0055-1ba2-46d940546eb7">Technical SEO fundamentals</strong></span></h3><p><span>You won’t be expected to lead complex technical projects independently, but you should be confident in understanding issues, explaining them clearly, and supporting implementation.</span></p><p><span>You’ll support the implementation of technical SEO improvements, such as:</span></p><ul><li><p><span>Identifying duplicate content, redirect issues or broken internal links using tools like Google Search Console and Screaming Frog</span></p></li><li><p><span>Working with the SEO Manager and engineers to help prioritise and validate fixes.</span></p></li></ul><h3><span><strong id="docs-internal-guid-d6fbd928-7fff-0055-1ba2-46d940546eb7">Cross-channel collaboration</strong></span></h3><p><span>This role goes beyond traditional website SEO. You’ll collaborate closely with other teams to maximise organic performance:</span></p><ul><li><p><span>Social: Work with the Social Media Manager to inform content topics and optimise discoverability (e.g. titles, captions, keywords) on our social media</span></p></li><li><p><span>CRO: Work with the CRO Lead to support improvements to conversion rates on key landing pages, using SEO insights to inform testing and optimisation</span></p></li><li><p><span>Product & Engineering: Collaborate on site improvements and new features, supporting the implementation of SEO best practices</span></p></li></ul><h2><span><strong id="docs-internal-guid-d6fbd928-7fff-0055-1ba2-46d940546eb7">Essential experience & skills</strong></span></h2><ul><li><p><span>A solid understanding of SEO best practices, including content creation and technical SEO optimisations</span></p></li><li><p><span>Comfortable working independently with these SEO and Analytics tools (you don’t need to be an expert in all of them):<strong id="docs-internal-guid-d6fbd928-7fff-0055-1ba2-46d940546eb7"><br></strong></span></p><ul><li><p><span>Google Search Console</span></p></li><li><p><span>Ahrefs, SEMrush or similar</span></p></li><li><p><span>GA4</span></p></li><li><p><span>Screaming Frog<strong id="docs-internal-guid-d6fbd928-7fff-0055-1ba2-46d940546eb7"><br></strong></span></p></li></ul></li><li><p><span>Experience analysing performance data and turning insights into clear, prioritised recommendations</span></p></li><li><p><span>Confidence running competitor analysis and identifying content or keyword gaps</span></p></li></ul><h2><span><strong id="docs-internal-guid-d6fbd928-7fff-0055-1ba2-46d940546eb7">How you work</strong></span></h2><ul><li><p><span>Proactive and self-motivated – you spot opportunities and issues without needing constant direction</span></p></li><li><p><span>Curious and eager to learn, especially through hands-on experimentation</span></p></li><li><p><span>Comfortable working closely with an SEO Manager in a small team and taking ownership of defined areas of work</span></p></li><li><p><span>Clear communicator, able to explain SEO insights to non-SEO stakeholders</span></p></li></ul><h2><span><strong id="docs-internal-guid-d6fbd928-7fff-0055-1ba2-46d940546eb7">SEO mindset & future focus</strong></span></h2><ul><li><p><span>Keep up to date with SEO trends, Google algorithm updates and industry changes</span></p></li><li><p><span>Strong interest in how AI, social search and changing user behaviour are reshaping organic discovery</span></p></li><li><p><span>Enjoy testing ideas, learning from results, and iterating based on what works</span></p></li></ul><h2><span><strong id="docs-internal-guid-d6fbd928-7fff-0055-1ba2-46d940546eb7">Nice to have (but not essential)</strong></span></h2><ul><li><p><span>Experience in marketplaces, healthcare, or care-related sectors</span></p></li><li><p><span>Familiarity with CMS platforms such as WordPress, Sanity or similar</span></p></li></ul>
