Your role at a glance The Principal Specialist, APAC will lead the organization's energy initiatives, focusing on optimizing energy supply, management, and procurement processes. Reporting directly to the Global Energy Director, this role is responsible for driving the execution of energy strategies, fostering a culture of sustainability, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Principal Specialist Energy Strategy will collaborate closely with internal teams, external partners, and utility companies to deliver measurable results that align with corporate sustainability goals. What we are looking for KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee the procurement and management of energy supplies to ensure reliable and cost-effective delivery. Develop strategies to optimize energy sourcing and reduce costs. Implement and manage energy efficiency programs to reduce consumption and improve sustainability. Perform annual reporting as needed for state regulations. Monitor and analyze energy usage data to identify opportunities for improvement. Ensure ramp schedules are kept up to date and provided to utility partners to help drive rate negotiations. Drive energy execution plan for short, mid, and long-term use. Drive PPA procurement process and REC procurement process. Perform detailed analysis on renewable energy opportunities, including business impact, cost risk, carbon abatement, and other factors to ensure a strong business case. Lead efforts to procure renewable energy sources, including solar, wind, and other sustainable options. Develop partnerships with renewable energy providers to secure long-term contracts. Develop and drive long-term roadmap for renewable procurement. Manage the procurement of Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) to support sustainability goals. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and track REC usage. Provide support for energy billing processes, including invoice verification and dispute resolution. Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate and timely billing. Serve as the primary point of contact with utility companies for energy-related matters. Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with utility providers. KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and maintains high quality of work. Broad analytical skills, and an ability to understand underlying business drivers and provide actionable insights based on analysis. Broad knowledge and prior exposure to international entities, foreign currency and inter-company transactions. Able to work in a team environment. Proficient in Microsoft Suite of products (Outlook, Powerpoint, Word) QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree or equivalent in relevant space such as business, finance, energy, utility. Relevant financial analysis certification(s) preferred. 10 years of relevant experience Graduates in Data Analytics with a focus on Business Analytics. Proven experience in energy management. Savings through rate negotiations. Long-term cost avoidance with PPAs. Cost avoidance expected in calculated avoidance with PPA. Current Utility Interface. Renewable energy procurement. Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Technical background allowing for uncovering billing discrepancies and driving resolution. Quick learner with proven ability to adapt to new roles and environments, rapidly acquiring new skills. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in relevant space such as business, finance, energy, utility.
